As promised....

This is the recipe for Buttermilk Syrup. Heavenly Syrup. Nectar of the Gods.

Whatever you prefer to call it. It's good. :D

Not so great for your waist line. But I'm not going to be making it for the next 12 weeks anyways!

Ingredients:
1/2 C. Butter
1 C. Sugar
1/2 C. Buttermilk*
1 T. Karo Syrup

Mix in a large saucepan (syrup expands when the baking soda is added at the end) and boil for about 2-3 minutes. Turn off the heat and add:

1 T. Vanilla
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda

Stir until the foam decreases...

This syrup is AMAZING on pancakes, waffles....So delicious! Try it with a little whipped cream too. It's almost a caramel kinda taste. But not really. :P

*HELPFUL HINT: If you don't have this on hand, you can always make your own: 1 C. Milk & 1 tsp. white vinegar; let sit for five minutes....I usually double the recipe anyways....and it's always good to know how to 'make your own' or substitute...as most people really don't like buttermilk, except in baking...!
