Tonight was our Tickle Creek Relief Society HFPE Service Auction. I won 2 prizes - but totally missed out on what I REALLY wanted....which was my VT companion to take our family pictures....But I'm still considering
bartering hardwoods for those....! After all - my hunky hubby Emcee'd....and he totally didn't pull any strings to get me those photos.....but OMG, he and Gary S. soooo had us all laughing in our seats.....I spent the better part of the night doubled over with my auction paddle in hand, trying not to pee my pants in my seat!!! As did several other of my wonderful friends!!
I won 2 dozen cinnamon rolls baked by Erika H. (They're soooo yummy and to die for!)
I won a violin lesson from Ashlee E.
I have ALWAYS wanted to learn how to play the violin. But with 8 kids, the money was never there for things other than necessities... (same as dance lessons, piano, gymnastics, braces, t-ball, v-ball, etc., sob, sob, wah, wah...)
Anyways....
So, I'm getting my first lesson. The kicker is, I've had a violin that I bought a while back - BK. Before kids. I'm so excited to learn! I'm hoping I pick up reading/holding/playing quickly....and that the years I've spent learning to sight read music for piano and singing has paid off. :)
Yay ME!!

i missed the auction...one of the staples of the tickle creek ward...hold out for those pictures, she is good!
those cinnamon rolls do look awfully good.
I'm sad we missed the auction, that sounds like fun, we miss our Tickle Creek friends. Thanks for your advice, I've totally been thinking about you now that I've embarked on raising two boys. And I do take the opportunity to read and watch movies during those dark hours of the night :) Take care!
there is something about learning something new after you have kids. I started teaching myself how to play the guitar last year.. I haven't really kept up with it, but I really like it. My oldest Keayen wants to learn how to play the violin I told him after he learned a little piano... it's been fun to check your blog out... so cute.. you are so hilarious.....
I was so sad I missed this! I had it marked on my calendar and one of the main reasons I didn't want to induce before Wednesday was for the auction. Glad you got some fun stuff, though! Next year I'll offer more photos and I'll totally be there. :)
Oh, and by the way, thanks for the yummy, yummy dinner! You seriously did too much! We really appreciated it.
Well, I still haven't had my 1st lesson - but I did manage to break one of my violin strings! Talk about talent! ;0)
Melanie - you don't know HOW MANY people were glaring daggers at Chikako all that night... EVERYONE wanted your picture package...!! Me included!!! :)
