“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Sandy Mountain Festival

It's that time of year again! Sandy Mountain Festival was this past weekend. I would've been quicker getting the pictures up, but I've been slacking. Sorry! It was a fun time had by all! The kids in our ward were encouraged to march in the parade in their Trek clothes (they leave in the next couple of weeks!) and I've attached those pics as well! :) David is on the far right, holding the banner!

Some of the floats were hysterical...there was one with a Semi-Truck promoting Breast Cancer awareness and the sign read "Get your Mammies Grammed!" And it hit a funny note with me for some reason and I couldn't stop laughing...I admit I even snorted a little over it.

It was also a first for Joshua! We had our whole little family there! Matt had fun waving his little flag and looking like a very patriotic little boy - Joshua did GREAT until they blared the firetruck horns at the end and then all heck broke loose! Crying, Screaming, arching his back and getting so stiff! It was an all out temper-tantrum! 8 months going on 8 years! YIKES!

Stann did start out the parade with us....but after about 10 floats, he started pacing - looking for our orange chair that we'd set out the night before - and someone stole. Yup, stole. People suck sometimes!! (Not all people - just people who'd steal and cheat!)

Afterwards we grabbed dinner at Taco Time and had a fun time telling everyone about the "cat" incident which had happened THAT DAY! Then Kathie, Grandma Betty, ChrissyAnn and David came over and watched my video...it looks a lot like the cinematography from Blair Witch! (It was my first time running a camcorder!)

But it was fun - for those of you who missed it, Sorry! Try going next year! :) You'll make it a tradition!
