“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Light at the end of the tunnel...

As some of you know, we've been searching for insurance. Ever since receiving the bill from Josh's stint in the ICU at 2 months, with RSV, we've been on a never ending search for a provider or network that we could afford. (Brief explanation: our insurance is so crappy - it's amazing they covered ANYTHING at the hospital, we thought our deductible had been met for the year - WRONG - so we've had to delay Josh getting tubes in his ears until we can find a provider/network that actually COVERS your hospital stay...AND in the meantime, Josh hasn't responded to any oral antibiotic, so we've had to get the Recefrin (sp?) shot 3 days in a row, to try and clear up his double ear infection....Look at him - that's the best sleep he's seen in days!) We've looked at quote after quote after quote...Poor Kathie's brain must be getting tired from being picked so much! But I think we're finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel! We've narrowed our search down to TWO! So the question will now be - how fast can I fill out the paperwork - and are we sure the light we see at the end of the tunnel is actually "light" or is it an oncoming train?!

its such a pain to go thru that process. my sister is doing the same thing.

its amazing how much money you can dish to those places and how little they come thru when u need them too.

We've noticed! I think we're gonna go with the Providence Plan...a little more of a hassle to get to (closest is on 48th/Glisan - where Ro works), but it should be bearable! :) The important thing is we'll have a smaller deductible (ours is $2500 and we pay upwards of $900/mo in premiums, copays & dr bills right now!) and both Stann and I will be able to have our surgeries - and Josh too! Yay!
