“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Matt's Zoo Field Trip

Okay, this was my first official field trip for Matt's Kindergarten class.

I started and ended with a bang!

We went to the Oregon Zoo - I had 3 kids in my group: Matt, Jon & Hailey.
My good friend Mindy had her son Davis & Sophia.

The kids did GREAT!

Especially since - like typical Oregon weather...It poured!

The animals cooperated for the most part...

The bobcat was bouncing around...

The polar bears came out to play...

We did a little group line up....They've got a ways to catch up to those bears!!

We took a quick break for lunch...

Matt found his cousin Nate and they ate their lunches together.
Nate was in another class...but we still got to see him!

Finding quick shelter from the rain...
Did I mention it poured?

At the end...we met up with the other groups for a quick class photo...
Both Mrs. Joy's & Mrs. Brown's classes

They have a little geyser that goes off every minute or so...the kids were squealing and having a blast!

Matt & Mommy

Matt and his friends.

My good friend Mindy and her son Davis (also a friend of Matt's) and in Mrs. Joy's class too.

Cousins....

All in all...a GREAT day.

Aside from the return trip home on the bus...where...I SWEAR! The bus driver was trying to kill us!  Five different times that woman (at least 60 if she was a day!) either came 1/4mm from slamming into a car in front of us or slamming on the brakes as we headed over the Morrison Bridge!

It WAS NOT nice!  I wished more than once for a bottle of valium to make it through the return trip back to the school!

I did come prepared and packed a bottle of Excedrin Migraine - which I used twice.   Because, yeah, it was that loud on the bus.

I was so glad I got to go and be a part of Matt's special field trip day!
