Four days in.
Restless nights, lots of coughing, crying and trying to keep a handle on Matt's pain management. It's not been awful...but Stann's been at work the past two days and Matt wants Daddy to hold him and make the pain go away. So sad!
On top of trying to get his pain under control, we have the wonnnnderful side effects of the steroids they have Matt on to keep the swelling under control. It turns my most complacent child into a raving child-demon. So. not. fun. So between bouts of insanity and crying spells because it hurts [complete with cries of "I wish I didn't have a neck" and "This hurts, this hurts, this hurts" and my personal favorite: "give me back my tonsils"] and the noxious smell of rotten meat and bad breath emannating from his mouth, we are dealing.
Josh is not coping well with it either...as most of our attention goes to Matt. Poor boy! And Stann goes out of town early Sunday morning. I hope things go back to our normal schedule...soon!
