“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Busy hands are HAPPY hands...??

If you couldn't tell....

I've been BUSY.

Pretty DARN busy!
Our Enrichment board is busy coming up with ideas for Super Saturday - or in our case - Friday Fun Nite - crafting from 6PM till we drop....(around 11:30PM) and I have been busily getting a few of the examples ready for the classes that we'll be offering....
(As I've also volunteered/been volunteered to be a teacher)...

Class #1 - Aprons....I played around with some remnants...about 1 1/2 yds...and managed to come up with a cutesy little apron - that not only fits me, but also my MIL and Mom.....and if you've met all of us...you know that's 3 distinctly different body types! :)
But I got it to work....its nice and long, and I have pockets all across the front - I added darts in the bust since none of us are flat chested in the least - and all in all - for making it up as I went along, I think it went okay. (LOL)
But THIS....

Is probably MORE LIKELY what we'll be sewing....AND, more to the point, what I'll be making my SIL's and Sis' for Christmas presents....(LOL)

Class #2 is a scrapbook collage/wallhanging....I couldn't NOT get the glare off of the pics of my cute little boys....

Easy enough - paint an art canvas any color - and decorate like a scrapbook page.

Got the idea from my SIL Aimee and ran with it....It's different than hers, but I like it. :) (I liked hers too...but I needed to be able to do SOMETHING at the Craft Nite and Aimee has volunteered, providing she's in town....)

And now onto dinner.....
I made THE BEST Crockpot ribs the other day. Didn't do a darn thing except throw the ribs in (after rubbing them with salt, pepper & garlic powder). Then I coated them with BBQ sauce, and added a little dehydrated onions (I can't eat raw onions - and I HATE to chop them if I don't have to....) and I also added about 1 C of Chicken broth (chicken boullion cube & 1 C HOT water).

I kept it on LOW - didn't hardly touch the lid and VOILA! Paula Deen woulda been proud!!! :)

The meat fell off the ribs...OMG. SOOOOO Good. And I must confess - ribs actually AREN'T one of my favorite dishes. I prefer STEAK. But DANG!!! These were good! :) Just thought I'd share....!
