“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

1st Family Boating Trip...

Well, here it is...pics from our first family boating trip of the summer...As you can see, Matt is getting quite proficient with driving....he's got "steering" down to a fine art (1st pic)....he really did drive the boat for awhile yesterday and he held us pretty darn straight! THEN...(middle pic) you can see that Stann is adjusting the throttle....Matt got ahold of the throttle....We had FOUR instances where Matt was in charge of the throttle....this boat of ours has a lot of get-up-and-go to it as well, so if you can picture in your minds....All of us were being thrown about the boat while Matt pulled back full tilt on the throttle and then pushed it all the way forward, bringing us to a dead stop....it kind of reminded me of my first driving lesson behind the wheel of a stick-shift!! JERK! STOP! JERK! STOP! We did this off and on for four times, laughing so hard we could barely catch our breath! It was probably more funny to us...but gotta tell you guys....What a kid!!! (Last pic...he took my sunglasses and had one hand on the glasses to hold them up and the other on the steering wheel helping Daddy drive).

Now Josh on the other hand....not to impressed with all that was going on....his allergies have kicked in HARD the past few days. If you can't tell his eyes are RED. We had to take him to the doctor yesterday....another ear infection, only this time, allergies and ear infection have combined to make clogged tear ducts, which means rainbow colored guck is coming out of his eyes, and we're washing them constantly, adding tobramyacin drops to help clear them up quickly. Not fun. Poor baby! But, he did like the water (as did Matt - he tried to jump in a few different times and kept screaming "Daddy, Daddy, Wa-wa!" Meaning "Lets jump in and swim Dad!" Which they kind of did a little later....just from the swimboard on the back of the boat....Thank goodness for those handles on the life vests!) And Joshy liked the hum of the engine in the boat....Thank goodness we have goodnatured kids who love the water just as much as their parents do!
