Okay...so there's a story that goes with this....and not whatcher thinkin' either. The story is in the HOW I had to get the book.
And I'm tellin' you now...SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!
I've waited a whole week or so - before I posted anything on it...so if you haven't read it and you don't want to know about some KEY points in the story...I'll warn you when I get to that part...!
So...how I had to go about getting the book:
We were at the beach when Mockingjay was released. I have wanted to read this for soooo long that patience was definitely NOT a strong suit for me. It was released Tuesday morning....only....Lincoln City does not have a Borders or a Barnes and Noble...and I didn't want to get stuck paying $25 bucks for a book...!
I looked on the internet, and called around Monday and found a bookstore in town that would sell it to me for a 30% discount if I paid cash...which, I was more than happy to! ;) I reserved a copy for myself...and found myself counting down the hours....
I got the address from the same site I got the # from....entered it into Tom-Tom and was on my way...
FORTY MINUTES LATER....I was almost to Newport...when I "reached my destination". Only...it wasn't "Bob's Beach Books" like the website had said.
Instead the sign said "Robert's Rare Books".
Now...in my defense...Robert and Bob are similar if not the same names....?! I mean...that's like...?!
So...my thinking was...
"Hmmm....maybe the rare books are on ONE side and the OTHER books are on the other...?"
NOPE!
The website has the wrong address listed!! I went inside...and apparently I'm not the only one this has happened to! It's clear back the way I came from!
So...I call them....ask for their real address...explain the situation....and the girl laughs and says "Oh yeah...they have that listed wrong...guess we should've asked yesterday..."
So I start driving back....only it takes me FOREVER to find. It's a hole-in-the-wall place....I nearly missed it...so by the time I get back...there was no time to read.
I was "banned" from starting my book - by my husband - until the kids went to bed.
ERGH!
Now...here's where the SPOILER ALERT comes into play...!
I hope I'm putting enough space between lines so you aren't getting things accidentally spoiled...
Okay. That's enough.
Soooo....I will confess....I read the Epilogue before I started.
I had too much vested interest....! THEN...I started to read...after the kids went to bed. I read straight through the night. I cried ONCE....when Peeta was returned. (I bet you thought I was gonna say when Prim died...but no.)
Until that time I had been undecided as to whether or not I even wanted her and Peeta together....I mean, in book one I was rooting for Gale. Book 2 I was kinda rooting for Peeta. And in the last book, I was undecided until I started seeing Gale's "true" colors and then I started rooting for Peeta hard-core.
But...I really thought the book ended good. I was glad she shot President Coin. I was glad President Snow died.
I was sooo sad that Finnick had to die. :( But glad he got a chance to be with his Annie. :*)
I couldn't hardly believe the back-story with Haymitch. When everything started coming to light...I thought she should've started shooting everybody!!
And lastly...I wish she (the author) would've shared the names of Katniss' kids. ;) Because I'm curious like that...I'm fairly certain she named the girl Primrose though...
But Beth had a great idea...having a get-together for those who've read the book and discuss it. Unless we put it on bookclubs list for 2011. ;)
I can't wait to re-read it...as soon as I get it back again! ;) LOL

I loved it too especially when they got to go back to 12 in the end and live and restart there. I was also so happy that she went for peeta :-) Thanks for letting me borrow yours! Defiantly nail biting material although I never threw the book across the room like you lol.
