“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Mac Fam Beach Photos...2010

Can I just say how much I loved the beach...?

We rented a home in North Lincoln City with the whole Mac Family....the house was able to sleep 22 - and yes, we put that to the test! ;)  Stann and I commandeered the master bedroom - with a King size bed - and bedded the boys down on the floor next to us.  It worked GREAT! (much like when we went to Utah and Idaho...)  And we kept pretty close to the boys' schedule....

We'd never been in "northern" Lincoln City...it was pretty nice. :)  About 10 minutes from the outlet malls....and for the boys that were interested....2 minutes away from the casino.

We did SO MUCH while we were there....Tidepools:

Uncle Monkey / "Daddy" - pointing out the stuff in the Tidepools...
These guys (seagulls) were EVERYWHERE...

Me and my boys....(my face is gettin' better....aside from some remaining swelling - that still hurts from time to time - I consider myself fully healed!!)

Matty found that the sand was perfect for playing in....and getting dirty in.

Joshy found out the same thing....surprise, surprise...

My FAVORITE picture....I want to frame this and put it in the bathroom....

L-R: Josh, Ryan & Matt
You see varying degrees of bum - but they're all dirty and all fixated on the task at hand.
Whatever that was....

The "Mac" kids...
L-R: Curt, Shaun, Stann, Jimmy & Chrissy

We're missing Jay and David....Jay is in Alaska, David in Brazil serving his mission (we're at the halfway point for that boy! woo-hoo!) And "Big" Josh is being held by them all...Josh isn't a blood Mac - but we've adopted him! ;)  Poor guy - been adopted by the "Hammies" and the "Mac's"...LOL.  We were just glad he came!!!

I have a friend (Kelly) who has written on her blog:
"Write your problems in sand and carve your blessings in stone."
So I took her advice...and strangely...I felt better writing some of my biggest problems or cares into the sand....and watching the ocean take them away.

(If you can't read they say: HOME, JOBS, MONEY & LIFE)
I was keeping it pretty general....but rest assured...they make sense in my mind.  I may even expound on them in a later post. We'll see!

Sunday, we went to Devil's Lake.  While we were there, Curt got a call from his boss...he had to be to work by 6AM the next day.  So this meant it was our last day with Curt & Aimee's kids....

I love this picture....Matt, Ryan, Josh & Nate....all rolling around in the sand....

They were all soooo dirty...but they had so much fun!  Sometimes I think boys just need to play in the dirt and feel the sand between their toes and fingers....it just feels sooo good!

Later they split up into sets of brothers....Ryan and Nate towards the left / Matt and Josh closer to the water....!

While we were there - we got all the kids together and put on the soccer jersey's that David had sent to us from Brazil (World Cup territory).  I had just given Matt, Josh & Nate a bubble bath, Emily had one but later on - and underneath is their PJ's...we lined them up on the deck iand took pics for Uncle David's viewing pleasure!!

L-R: Emily, Katelynn, Nate, Ryan, Matt & Josh throwing a fit on the ground.
In his defense....he was tired....and he hit his wall...HARD.

The view from the deck....all ocean in the horizon!!!

Since I kept to our schedule pretty good - the boys were asleep by 7pm.  That meant that one night I was able to sneak out with Stann - since the boys were sleeping nicely in their rooms - and take a walk on the beach with my hunky hubby.

*SIGH*

So nice.  I can't remember when the last time we got to do that together...!!!! And in such nice weather!!

Right before Curt & Aimee left - the grown ups in the jersey's....
The biggest size was a "large" and a Brazillian's version of a "large" is fairly pathetic.  More like a SMALL!  So don't laugh at all my accentuated fat rolls!!

L-R Back: Stann, ME, Jimmy, Chrissy, Curt, Aimee & Katelynn
L-R Front: Shaun, Josh, Emily, Nate

Pictures from the Aquarium....
and more of our view from the deck...there was a
telescope at the house...and we could see birds all over the rock!!

Matt checkin' out the Swampland exhibit...

Stann, Matt, Josh & I checking out the tidepool fish and animals that we were able to touch...!

Starfish were a BIG HIT!

And here's our family picture...I'm sure it'll make a fun Christmas card!!
Way to show 'em yer teeth!!

We headed down to Newport - to check out the seals...
They seem to be growing in numbers!!!

The boys really liked the pic of the boat...and wanted to get their pictures taken by it!!

More of the seals....the boys were content to just watch and hear them bark...

We later went to the beach and flew kites....

Kathie found kites on sale for $2 each...and
got all the kids their own kites!

Only....Curt & Aimee's kids left before they could enjoy theirs...   :(
But you can see they were a great time!

Joshy and Grandma....workin' the kite strings over...

We had such a fun time....I didn't grab a picture- but the night that we tried on the jersey's...we also tried some soda from Brazil...and guava paste....that was supposed to be like jelly - I guess...

I didn't like the soda.  I'll stick with Coca Cola. ;)
The guava paste was super sweet...I think I got a cavity. (ha, ha)

We had such a fun time though...! :)  I told Stann he could feel free to relocate to the beach at any time...and I would make the sacrifice of living there year round. ;) LOL
What a sacrifice!!

We did have a great time...the house had a hot tub and we enjoyed morning and night soaks...the boys learned how to hold their breath and stick their heads underwater...they had a great time with that!

We had fun hanging out together and enjoying our family - playing games and strengthening those bonds. :)

We have one awesome family!!
