It's been awhile since I've updated on what Mischief and Mayhem have done around the house...(Oh the inventive boys that they are!) ;)
*2 days ago, opened up the washer to find a 'newish' box of ziplocs completely destroyed and fully laundered. (WHAT A MESS!)
*Mischief (Matt) painted my powder bath with Scentscy wax (from the nightlight in there) including the faucet, mirror, backsplash & countertop. (It smelled nice...but a pain to clean up!)
*Mischief (Matt) took TWO (2!) boxes of paperclips and emptied them into my laundry soap. (This took forever to pick out - and I'm still finding the occassional paperclip in my washer.
*Mayhem (Josh) popped out the screen in the family room and 'escaped' outside in the early AM; this also happened to be the day it was snowing. Mischief promptly joined him outside - and when I awoke, it was to the sight and sounds of two half-naked children (diapers & unders on only...) romping in the newly fallen snow. (sigh)
*I now have 4 new playdough additions in my carpet that I've been trying to carefully pick out. {Yuck!}
*Mayhem (Josh) broke thru 2 kiddy locks on the fridge, swiped a soda can, emptied soda upstairs on my carmelized bamboo floor, and then preceeded to empty a box of laundry detergent on top of the soda. A newly opened/purchased box, no less....
*Mischief & Mayhem (while Dad was on duty) pried open the kitchen window, grabbed 2 different bottles of dishsoap and handsoap and the proceeded to "wash" the deck, patio furniture & play structure. Some parts we didn't know were "washed" and are now bubbling in the drizzley weather we're enjoying....since we missed it during the clean-up.
*Mischief & Mayhem took apart Dad's BBQ and found the knobs that control the gas. {ALL done underneath the BBQ cover - while it was still on!!?!??!} Fortunately, we do NOT have matches anywhere in the vicinity (at least until they learn to climb walls and reach our TOP cupboards) - but a newly bought tank of propane was tampered with, and we now have to refill.
*Not sure which child can take credit - but we had to open all our heating vents and then start plucking out the various toys that have been shoved into the heating vents for "safe keeping". We now at least have heat back and circulating through the house....
*Cleaned my table...only to find the boys have 'painted' and drawn with magic marker all under neath the table itself and the chairs. {sigh} I have no idea when this particular mischief happened...I only know that it did, and should my sons ever enter into the art world, I have original works of art that are signed and available for display should they ever chance upon fortune and fame in this arena.
*WE HAVE BANNED CANDY AND SWEETS IN OUR HOME. Grandma Kathie bought the boys their own little easter eggs filled with sweets - that she gave them when we went to see the Blue-Collar guys. Josh has become soooo obsessed with candy of late - that he actually woke up at 5 AM, started scouring the house for his egg and threw the 'fit of all fits' for an hour - before he would go back to bed. (Candy-less I might add!) And when he woke up just a few hours later - the first word out of his cute, incoherent mouth was "Candy?" (This is funny - because I still have 13 bananas that are really ripe and I need to do something with....but HOW?! when my children are sugar junkies looking for their next fix?!)
The list could go on and on, I assure you....But my favorite, #1, all-time funniest of late is this:
*Mischief (Matt) when brushing his teeth the other day told me as he finished and was leaving the bathroom "Mom, don't burn the house down today, okay?" and then left.
These boys crack me up. :)
