“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

One Hundred and One Famous Poems....

One Hundred and One Famous poems....

I've been reading the book I was given by my mother....printed in 1929. :) I came across a few handfuls that I've fallen in love with....and will be posting them here and there....

As my mood changes or as inspiration strikes. :)

I wish I could express myself half as well as these people do, but alas!

I don't! So enjoy. :)

Invictus

(Yes...there's a movie about Nelson Mandela and this poem...but that's not why I liked it or chose it....read on...)

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever Gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate;

I am the captain of my soul.

- William Ernest Henly (1849-1903)
