“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Days 5, 6 & 7

Day #5

Could have been horrific.

Instead - it was OK. We stayed home for a big part of the day - played outside in the sunshine....I caught up on laundry and we just vegged. Though we'd tried to make plans to meet up for a play date at Dodge Park.

Didn't happen, but again...that was okay. :) Just me hanging with my boys.

Then I decided to go to the beach for Day #6. Chrissy spent the night on the couch, and we watched 'Angels & Demons' on the TV. (LOL)

Gotta love Friday nights!

Day #6

Woke up at 7AM, got us packed and ready for the beach.

Decided to take the kids to Tillamook, take a tour of the Cheese Factory, try samples and then drive for a bit.

Also stopped at Tillamook Jerky Outlet and picked up a little 'somethin-somethin' for Stann when he got home.

LOL. No raised eyebrows please. It was a package of Terriyaki Beef Jerky. ;) Yeah, that's right...I know what my man likes! Jerky! (LOL)

We then went to Rockaway Beach - stopping at Flamingo Jim's....let the kids pick out ONE TOY. Only...they didn't really pick out toys. Matt chose a handheld crank flashlight that's self powered and has "MATTHEW" written on it. It's orange & yellow.... Joshua chose a thermos. (LOL) because it makes a "pop" sound when you open it. It's bright blue and has "JOSHUA" emblazened all over it.

We then set up shop at Rockaway Beach....parked in the public parking, headed down to the beach and just enjoyed the weather.

It had said it would only be 58, hazy with winds 12 mph.

Instead it was warm, with gentle breezes every once and awhile, and though it wasn't a clear day, the sun was getting through just fine. :) We sat and played in the sand for 2+ hours....

It was bliss. :)

It definitely recharged my battery. The waves that were cresting there were HUGE! Seriously, I'd not seen any that big since Neskowin Girls weekend - after a major storm. :)

We then rode home in the car - the kids slept 40 minutes of the car ride - I entertained them by singing umpteen verses of "Silly Sammy" and this entertained the boys to no end coming up with silly answers to my silly song....it was great!!

I was so glad to have Chrissy's help with the boys!!! They did great - we made a ton of memories this past week....and then, right around midnight....

Daddy's truck pulled in to the driveway!!

Day #7

I woke up early, got myself to sacrament meeting to say the closing prayer and now, if you all will please excuse me....

I'm gonna go spend time with my wonderful husband, who I've missed very much.

:)
