“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Updates and THE LOVE DARE....

Just a couple of quick updates....

Josh is doing great. Really.

I, on the other hand, am finding it very challenging to be a happy person amidst our current household policy of No sleep for anyone over the age of 3.

You think I'm kidding.

Last night, we had our first incident with the 'nausea' portion of Josh's recovery.

2AM I hear him crying in his crib; I went in to find him coughing and gagging. I picked him up and BLLLUUUPP.....yup, you guessed it...

All over me.

Disgusting, yes. Oh well. Vomit seems to be attracted to Mother's everywhere, so I'm told. So experience tells me, too.

Then two hours later, right on schedule as we hit the 7 day mark, he coughed up a little blood. The scabs are officially healing in the back of his throat.

After we got him to 'gargle' a little ice water, we then gave him ice cream and a cold, cold bottle of milk to drink.

That got us through to 7AM. :D

So, that's pretty much it in a nutshell. Except...I was given a movie to watch with Stann, called "Fireproof". Starring Kirk Cameron. Shall I go on?

Stann's been pretty resistant to seeing it. So today I sat down and watched it, amid many pauses for kissing owies and referee duties.

I must say....it was good. I do believe I'll even buy the book "The Love Dare", on account that EVERYONE can always use a little help in their marriage....

Although it's not written by an LDS author...for all intents and purposes, it really could have. Minus the 'new agey' language they use from the bible. The basic principles transcend any religious barriers you might feel towards 'born again' literature....or even their versions of the King James Bible.

The gist is the same. The ideas are still good and the ideals listed would help any marriage. It was very heart warming. I really like those feel-good movies. :D The ending was happy and the gist of it was: a marriage that is centered around God with HIM at the helm and with both sides giving of themselves completely and getting more than they bargained for in the return....

It was good. I cried. But keep in mind, I cry at commercials, sometimes too.

I would thoroughly recommend it. I'm even going to try it out on Stann....see if he notices.

I sure hope so. :D

Let me know what you guys think, should you invest the $4 in your marriage for the movie rental.

'Cuz I'm curious like that.

Sleep...so ellusive. I seek it myself sister, let me know when you figure out how to get more.

I keep hearing about that Fireproof movie and want to see it so bad. Its supposed to be great, but its proving hard to get a hold of. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
