Oh, no they di'int! But Oh YES! They did!

So, I'm like seeeriously frustrated with our neighbors again.

And, again, let me clarify: not the actual owners of the house, but their adult children & grandchildren!!

So, saga #2, goes something like this....

Outside, weeding my yard, when I smell something a little funny. Could it be? What is that awful smell? I'm not sure that I've smelled it before?? It makes my head hurt...

Oh, no they di'int! But Oh YES! They did!

The ever wonderful children of our neighbors are now outside, Smoking pot. On their deck. I hurriedly got the kids in and started thanking my lucky stars that we have an AC unit in the house - that blocks the smell from getting in.

What appalled me the most though - besides their bad behavior - but that's another topic, so I'll save that for another day...

Was the lack of response when my neighbor called the non-emergency number for the police. (I have tattle-tale issues....but ranting on my blog about it is an entirely different matter....!)

Apparently, they can't do anything unless they're caught in the act. And, it's not that big of an offense, that it merits them coming out to bust 'em.

I'm more than a little shocked.

Maybe the operator was having a bad day. Maybe it's just like she said....just a slap on the wrist offense.

They suggested that the Children's Health Services be called - as they were smoking around their kids.

Seriously?

It's like no one wants to deal with it - and so we're playing an ever-so-nice game of "pass the buck"....

Ugh.

Obviously, I'm not fasting or praying hard enough.

OR

Maybe there's a lesson I need to learn?

Like....Don't do drugs? Love thy neighbor? Patience, tolerance and love?

Whatever the lesson, I really need to learn it quick. :( Every day I feel the value of my property lowering in price....

Ugh.

In the mean time, I'm gonna visualize myself kicking them in their shins, taking their left shoes, and all of them tied together with chinese handcuffs (only they're not smart enough to get them off...!)

On the other hand....

Maybe I should be more Christ-like and take them a loaf of banana bread over. Asking them to please curb their behaviors.

Either way, I can't decide. So I'm taking a poll.
