“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

In a hurry....

I'm in a hurry today. Not much going on, really....EXCEPT

On Tuesday, David, (Stann's youngest brother) leaves for Brazil. We are having his open house here at my house on Sunday - from 6:30pm -8:00. (At least that's what time I think it's supposed to be from...lol). But more posting on that later. I'll dedicate an entire post to that boy. :D LOL. Simply because he's a funny kid - whoops - excuse me - young man. And do I have some stories to tell on him! :P

(LOL. Just kidding. Kinda...)

I love entertaining. I really do. But I have a nasty habit of psyching myself out - making sure every nook, cranny and crevice - has been cleaned and polished - before I allow company into my home.

My boys are complicating the matter of cleaning though. Just yesterday they fingerpainted with yogurt and spaghetti sauce on my couch. (YUCK.) And they had accidents galore in their beds - which requires a mountain of laundry to be washed, line-dryed and beds re-made. Okay, so it's not really required. But, I require it. Purely for my sanity.

But (and I can't be the only one out there who thinks this....) there is something to be said for a house where everything is put away....in its place.....where you can sit down, relax, and watch your kids play (or play with them, for that matter...) and know as you look around you, that there aren't any pressing tasks awaiting you - because they're already done. :P

I like that feeling. Maybe it's just OCD...LOL.

So, I'm off to put my house a'rights....and get some much needed peace.

Happy Thursday!

I totally understand.. for Kristina and Tia's party I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned.. and then the kids messed it up so I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more.. it is a never ending cleaning project when you have kids.. I always feel better when my house is clean and I can sit and relax for a minute..
