“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Helloooo?! This thing on?!

Is anyone out there even REMOTELY as excited as I am about the next few days as we count down to the release of Breaking Dawn? I have the SAME ritual that I do as I await the release of ANY book (or before I settle down with an oldie-but-goodie). It's kind of my pre-req to assuage the feelings of guilt that creep in on me in between chapters...as I calmly read my book while kids are otherwise engaged in destroying the house and all that is around them....

My reading process: Drop everything and READ. If the kids are in no danger, are fed and the house isn't burning down, then the family can fend without me interacting for 1 day. I read, NON-STOP, sort of "speed-read" thru the FIRST time and then the SECOND, I throroughly absorb every word and each experience as the author intended. I just have to give in to knowing the gist of what's going on and what I can expect. It's just my process. :) But because of said process, I score extremely HIGH on comprehensive tests.....

Anyways....THIS is how excited I am...

* I've been cleaning non-stop to make sure that the house is in order, and also so Hunky Hubby will have LESS to complain about while I'm engrossed in said book....

* I've even made extra dinners and put them in the freezer so the family won't starve AND so it requires LESS of my time away from my book.

* I've already studied and planned lessons and fulfilled responsibilities for my VT, CTR8 and HFPE Board Meetings.

* I've even called Grammy Hammies to ask her to help out with kids so they're not sooo neglected. Like to take them to the park...and get some Vitamin D, while I hunker down on my couch and read to myself like a hermit....

Every Mommy needs a vacay....this is how I do my "down" time. I know I'm a bit extreme - I tend to over-organize....but I like to feel in control.....even as I plan to let my control slip for a day!
