“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

SNOW DAY

Okay...now that the snow is gone, I can FINALLY post pics on our blog! Our connection is so fickle - that it has to be clear weather for us to get onto the internet! I've tried (unsuccessfully) 4 times to post these...!

Anyways...SUNDAY, I was supposed to speak in church. But, we got snow, and church got cancelled! (YAY!) This is the 2nd time this has happened to me - no joke! Last time I was supposed to speak on Dec. 18, 2005, and I was snowed out then too! Lucky me! I'll speak again on the 17th in February, so I could only delay it so long...! But I digress!!!

Anyways....we ended up getting about 8" here in Boring! And for those of you who've never had the pleasure of experiencing Oregon snow, let me break it down for you...it's not powder! It is the wettest, yuckiest, messiest snow on the planet. It seriously can chill you to the bone! Snowballs are deadlier, snowmen get icier....you've never experienced "winter" until you've experienced a good ol' fashioned Oregon winter....complete with freezing rain, ice and of course, snow. So, Stann and I bundled up our cute little boys into "Abominable Snowbabies" they were in their PJ's under the snow suits...and we went out to play for a couple hours.

Josh hated the snow. Didn't like being "in" it. He handled it okay, so long as he was on my lap and observing from a distance....although, eventually he did warm up to the idea of being out in the snow with us!

Matt loved the snow. Of course! He kept running through it, tossing it in the air, at me, at Stann and he especially loved pitching snow balls at the dogs for them to jump in the air and "bite" at. He was a real trooper and did awesome - when he wasn't jumping on top of his brother!

Stann of course, loves the snow. My biggest boy made a 5' tall snowman, and then after we took pics of the kids on it, proceeded to back up, and charge at it like a front lineman in a football game! (BTW...the snowman didn't stand a chance! He was pummeled FLAT!)

I had a great time instigating "reverent" snowball fights, (HA!), playing with my boys and of course, taking pics of these cute men in my life! All in all, it was a great day had by us all - and best of all - we got to be together as a family!
