We own 2 homes, have 2 kids, 2 trucks and 2 dogs. Stann is still the awesome guy I married (only a little more grown up!) and still can make my heart skip a beat. He also is the only person who has ever been able to make me laugh when I'm angry (without tickling me).
There have been fun days, sick days and days where we've wondered what we'd gotten ourselves into....but I can safely say we've gotten through most things unscathed and become even better friends.
Now I bet you're wondering what we did for our 8th anniversary?

We went and hauled Jimmy's truck out of the snow. (They'd got it stuck the day before - up Memaloose Road where we like to go shooting in that old gravel pit...on the OTHER side of Mt. Hood) The bright spots of this event: There was snow (Yay!) and we left the kids behind with Grandma (Yay!) But it was 6 hours start to finish of hauling that truck out! I shoveled till I couldn't shovel anymore! Given my druthers, I'd rather have gone to a restaurant, and had some fantastic evening together at home (unlike how we came home starving and soaked to the bone!), but as Anniversaries go, this one was definately unique! I can honestly say I didn't mind it...but I'd rather not repeat it. But, there again, you're listening to a girl who has fun going up an escalator!
After all was said and done, we went out to a Chinese restaurant with everyone who'd gone up to help, Grandma and Kids included and spent some time together as a family.
I can honestly say this wasn't my first choice, but, since I had Stann by my side, it really, REALLY could have been worse! So...please don't take this as complaining....because I consider Stann to be my biggest blessing (our kids are a very, very close 2nd) and the fact that we'll be able to look back on this 10 years from now and laugh about how we spent our anniversary together is a comfort...and well, I've decided he can make it up to me on our 10th anniversary. Since we never took a honeymoon - and I'm thinkin' that's about the time Hawaii will be calling our names!

Happy Anniversary! May not be a text book way to spend an anniversary, but I think being together is REALLY what it's all about! Congratulations!
Hey Liz...I love all of your beautiful pictures of your family. How exciting to be married for so long to your guy! I know William is my favorite guy for me as well.
