“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.” ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Dreaming in Dialogue

More book talk:

I have to ask a couple of my writer friends if this is the norm or not.  Maybe its just me?  But, I dream in dialogue.

Translation:  I dream about my characters and what they should say or do in full blown movie style.

I have done this since...well, forever.

I have always written stories.  Even as  kid, I'd go up to my room and write stories.  Well, I did until certain siblings who should remain nameless (*cough* DIANA! the one that went into my room and got them, and *cough* LEEANDRA! who read them in front of: other siblings Mike and Sarah and led the critiquing session) got  hold of my stories, which, admittedly, SUCKED, and then proceeded to read them aloud and critique them in such a way that I stopped writing for a very, very, long time.  {You just can't do that to a teenager!}  Anyways long story short, I stopped taking writing classes or hashing out my stories on paper.

But the dream dialogue never stopped.

But eventually the writing bug caught up with me again and I've been writing and rewriting for the past 5 years, 3 different books.  I'm half way through one.  I'd be further along if I had followed my friends advice and stopped revamping the beginning of said book.  [oops]

I hope to be finished by the end of the year and well underway of the editing process.

And last night, I had the epiphany of all my dream dialogues and I think! solved the problem I was stuck on with this newest dream dialogue.

Or, at least...we'll see if this is what fixes everything..!
